At Hands N Paws, we’re committed to delivering consistent, reliable care to every client. Our Record Points System helps us maintain these high standards by tracking performance issues that impact service quality. This system ensures fairness and clarity for all team members.
How the Points System Works
The system tracks infractions based on their severity. Points are assigned when issues could have been prevented through attention to established guidelines.
Common 1-Point Infractions:
- Not following client/pet instructions (in profiles, service notes, or home notes)
- Shortening service duration without client or team leader approval
- Arriving more than 30 minutes late without valid reason
- Failing to submit journal reports after completed services
More serious issues, such as no-shows, may result in higher point values or immediate termination, determined by leadership.
Points Threshold & Consequences
Reaching 3 points within a quarter will result in a 30-day suspension from Precise Petcare, during which you cannot accept new services.
After suspension:
- Your points reset to zero
- Your team leader will monitor your performance closely
- Any infractions within your first 30 days back may result in immediate termination
Communication & Tracking
Your team leader maintains a points spreadsheet and will always discuss incidents with you before assigning points. We understand that mistakes happen—each situation is evaluated individually, with flexibility for unique circumstances.
Valid Exceptions
Points are not assigned for legitimate emergencies such as:
- Traffic accidents or major delays
- Personal or family emergencies
- Extreme weather conditions
- Vehicle breakdowns
Important: You must notify your team leader immediately via Slack if an emergency affects your schedule.

You can always ask your team leader about your current points status or discuss any work-related concerns. We believe in transparent communication and will keep you informed about your standing.
